On October 13, Continuity took part in the ITHM Tech Accelerator Day, the flagship startup event of InsurTech Hub Munich, held in the city’s Werksviertel district. Our CEO Benoît Pastorelli attended alongside Rupert Hustert and Christopher Lohman, who lead our work on the German market.
What we take away
Germany is one of the markets with the most potential for Continuity, for two reasons.
Its variety. Germany doesn’t have one insurance market. It has sixteen. Compared to more centralised markets, each federal state has its own players, dynamics and specificities.
Its transformation. Germany’s large mid-market is changing fast. With the consolidation of the brokerage market, many insurers now grow through portfolio acquisition rather than policy acquisition. The ambition is clear: grow and gain market share, without sacrificing technical rigour. That balance between growth and underwriting discipline is exactly where Continuity wants to help.
On the ground, and accelerating
Addressing this market in all its specificities requires a team in Germany. That team is already in place, and we are working with five players in the market today.
This is only the beginning. We will keep accelerating.
